THE Asian Formula 3 Corporation (AF3), which holds office in Manila, is an entity incorporated under Philippine laws and duly registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission. It was organized for the purpose of bringing professional motor sport to a new level in Asia by demonstrating to commercial backers that motor sport, and Formula 3 in particular, offers a tremendous return on an investment in series, event, team or driver support.
IN the first leg of last year’s Asian Formula Three Series (AF3), which was held at the Batangas Racing Circuit, the then 16-year-old Tyson Sy served notice that he was a driver to watch out for when he won the Promotions Class in Rounds One and Two, edging out his more experienced and older rivals. His adeptness behind the wheel so enthralled those who watched him drive that he was given the moniker of “Wonder Boy” after the race.
