(07 May '06) Sy led the field away with John O'Hara storming through to second from the 5thy on the grid and was giving Sy a run for his money before he went off, permanently, at turn 5. This handed second place to Dillon Battisttini who led a four car train comprised of James Winslow, who had gone off on the first turn and worked his way back to third, Moreno Soerapto and Dado Pena. They finished in that order, despite lots of ducking and diving. Battisttini drove a faultless "defensive" race. Moreno was demoted to 7th place after receiving a time penalty for jumping start.

Team Manager, Edgen Dy-Liacco, pointed out that there were really only a few cars on the grid which did not arrive late or require new engines which also arrived last minute. "John O'hara demonstrated the advantage of having the car early and being able to put in a lot of testing" said Dy-Liacco.
JoJo Silverio agreed "My new 301 car was only ready on Friday of race week and we just ran out time to get a good set up. Speeedtech did a fantastic job to get the car on the grid and two fourth place finishes were more than I expected".
