05 November 2006 -Tyson Sy had a spectacular year-ending race, and with a hint of luck, gave him enough points for first runner-up in the Overall Championship.
Starting on 13th place, practically at the back of the grid, Tyson steadily made his way up to third, which gave him the edge in the points standing over Ali Jackson, who stalled at the start and was down by a lap.

05 November 2006 – After round 17, with 22 points ahead of Dado Pena, Tyson Sy bagged the Philippine National Formula 3 Driver of the Year award.

Speedtech Asia guest driver, Philip Forsman of Sweden, won his first F3 race ever in the Promotions Class at the start of the BRC leg. Forsman who qualified a second ahead of Indonesian driver, Satrio Hermanto, led all the way and had a great race.

Tyson Sy led the entire race with Ali Jackson, James Winslow and Moreno Soeprapto closely trailing him. It was only until the last lap where Dado Pena made his way thru the train of four. After the race, Pena’s finish was in question for passing under the yellow flag but after further investigation by the stewards, he was finally crowned champion of race 15.

Driving an F301 for the BRC leg, Tyson Sy qualified second who was behind British driver Charlie Hollings by .3 of a second while Philip Forsman will lead in his class and Dela Merced third for round 16.

Progressive Practice Sessions for Tyson and Philip
After testing with different car set-up, Tyson Sy had good practice sessions where he was fastest at the end of the day. Philip Forsman, who wisely used all six practice sessions, clocked the fastest for his class behind Michelle Bumgarner. Gaby dela Merced has trimmed down her time by a second from yesterday’s sessions.

Productive Start for Speedtech Asia
It was a fairly good start in the first day of official practice for the team with Tyson leading the pack of three for the final event of the year, being part of the top 3 fastest for the day.
Speedtech Asia guest driver, Philip Forsman, who is driving a formula 3 for the first time was third fastest in the Promotions Class. Gaby dela Merced has yet to find her self.

Philip Forsman joins Speedtech Asia
18 year old Swedish Formula A karter and Formula Renault Nordic Series driver, Philip Forsman, joins Speedtech Asia to race a Dallara 398 in the Promotions Class for the final AF3 event of the year on November 4/5 at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

After a week long struggle of practice, Speedtech Asia management decided to use a different car for the Indonesian Leg which resulted to a 4-3-2-2-2 finish on rounds 10 to 14 of the Asian Formula 3 Series for the team’s ace driver Tyson Sy.
